On Wednesday, National Security Advisor (NSA) Jake Sullivan indicated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to hold discussions with US President Joe Biden during the G7 Summit in Italy.
Addressing reporters on Air Force One en route to Italy for the G7 Summit, Sullivan indicated, ‘President Biden anticipates Prime Minister Modi’s presence. The formal confirmation lies with the Indian side, but we expect both leaders to meet during the event.’
Sullivan mentioned that Biden phoned PM Modi during their time in Paris to extend congratulations on his election victory and third term inauguration as Prime Minister.

Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra confirmed that Prime Minister Modi will embark on his first overseas trip since beginning his third consecutive term in office, heading to Italy on Thursday.
Italy has extended an invitation to India to participate in the 50th G7 Summit on June 14 as an Outreach Country.
Kwatra confirmed that Modi would meet Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. However, he mentioned that details regarding bilateral meetings with other leaders are still being finalized.
