A mass shooting at a crowded bar on St. Helena Island in South Carolina, United States has tragically left four people dead and at least 20 others injured. The incident took place early Sunday at Willie’s Bar and Grill, where a large crowd was gathered. Upon their arrival at the scene, the authorities found several individuals suffering from gunshot wounds, prompting an urgent response. The investigation is ongoing and authorities are working to determine the circumstances leading to the deadly attack.
Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office confirms the incident
Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office stated that the circumstances of this incident are still under investigation. “Upon arriving at the scene deputies made contact with a large crowd of people, several of which were suffering from gunshot wounds. It was learned that hundreds of people were at the location when the shooting occurred. Multiple victims and witnesses ran to the nearby businesses and properties seeking shelter from the gun shots,” the office stated in a post on X.
Several victims were transported by Beaufort County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to the hospital. More victims continued to show up at area hospitals seeking medical attention from injuries sustained at the scene. Calling the incident tragic, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office asked everyone to keep their patience as they investigate the incident.
Earlier on Saturday, at least four people were killed and 12 others injured after a shooting broke out in Downtown Leland, Mississippi. According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, officials were searching for an 18-year-old suspect in connection with the case, who is still at large.
