Two Strong Earthquakes, Magnitudes 6.6 And 6.7, Jolts Russia’s Kamchatka Coast

Both quakes struck off the east coast of Kamchatka, a seismically active part of the Pacific Ocean's "Ring of Fire" region. No damage or injuries have been reported so far.

Two strong earthquakes struck off the coast of Russia’s Far East region of Kamchatka on Sunday, according to the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ). The first quake had a magnitude of 6.6 and struck at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.21 miles), after initially being reported as 6.2.

Shortly after, a second quake measuring 6.7 struck at a depth of 10 kilometers.
