Indian Army reach Turkey

New Delhi: After the earthquake in Turkey, to speed up the relief and rescue operations, the Air Force aircraft C-17 Globemaster carrying the Indian rescue team reached Adana. A C17 flight carrying over 50 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel and medical supplies, drilling machines and other equipment needed for the assistance left for Turkey this morning. MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi tweeted and gave the information.

S Jaishankar expressed solidarity 

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tweeted that the first Indian C17 flight with over 50 search and rescue personnel, specially trained dog squads, drilling machines, relief materials, medicines and other essential utilities and equipment arrived in Adana, Turkey. The External Affairs Minister further said that the second aircraft is getting ready for departure.

NDRF Deputy Commandant Deepak Talwar, who is leading the rescue operation, said that the team comprises 47 NDRF personnel and three senior officers. He further said that we have received orders for two teams. Humanitarian assistance will be provided as directed by the government.

PMO tweeted that help will be sent

Earlier, the Prime Minister’s Office tweeted on Monday that in view of the earthquake in Turkey, NDRF search and rescue teams, medical teams and relief materials would be sent immediately.

After the earthquake in Turkey, the whole world community has come together to help Turkey. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins on Monday announced USD 11 million in aid for earthquake-hit Turkey and Syria.
