Despite Ukraine being the preferred topic in recent summits, Zelesnkyy has not been invited to the crucial session of NATO members.

According to AFP, Zelenskyy’s top aide Andriy Yermak has confirmed that he was in touch with US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, over preparations for the upcoming meeting.

Yermak posted on X, “From The Hague, I had a substantive conversation with U.S. Secretary of State and Acting National Security Advisor to the President, @SecRubio. I thanked him for the productive meeting and discussion in Washington during our visit with the team, as well as for his support.”

Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed doubts about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s authority to sign a treaty, while indicating he was open to meeting him for peace talks, RT reported.

“Signature must come from legitimate authorities,” the Russian President said.

Zelenskyy repeatedly called for a meeting with Putin, stating that he alone can resolve pressing bilateral issues, including disputes over territory.

However, speaking to international media at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Putin raised concerns over the Ukrainian leader’s legitimacy.
