A lighthearted moment unfolded at the White House on Tuesday during a briefing by US President Donald Trump. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr, standing just behind him, sneezed, prompting Trump to pause and joke: “God bless you, Bobby. I hope I didn’t catch Covid just there.”
Trump and the attendees broke into laughter. The briefing focused on plans to bring down the prescription drug costs through a deal with Pfizer, with Trump also speaking about efforts to cut insulin prices during his first administration.
Amid the laughter, he turned to Albert Bourla, the CEO of Pfizer, and joked that he should give him Paxlovid, the medicine used to treat Covid-19 symptoms. “Don’t you have Paxlovid?” Trump asked. “He’s got Paxlovid. Give me one right away,” he quipped.
