Each applicant will undergo rigorous vetting by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and will also be required to pay a $15,000 processing fee.
Lutnick clarified that this program will not increase immigration, but will replace failed visa categories (such as the Diversity Lottery) that drag down the United States, despite their purpose being to attract high-income individuals.
According to him, this initiative will bring in individuals and companies that will strengthen the US economy, create jobs and increase investment, while also helping to reduce the deficit.
The post stated that the “Trump Gold Card” returns the US immigration system to its original purpose, to serve the American public first.
