India is considered to be the most ancient civilisation in the world, as it is believed that the country has a history of over 10,000 years. However, according to the World Population Review survey, this is not the case.
In fact, a Muslim nation has been credited with the title, and it is said that the civilisation of this nation is over 1,00,000 years old.
The World Population Review survey analysed historical population data to decode the trends of the current global population. The survey named Iran as the oldest civilisation, stating that people have been living in this part of the earth for over 1,00,000 years.
The survey associated the nation with the Elamite Empire, which is believed to have existed during the Middle Bronze Era.
Dating back to 3200–539 BCE, the Elamite Empire is regarded as an ancient civilisation that was located in the far west and southwest of modern-day Iran. The civilisation left its footprint, which can still be observed today in Khuzestan and Ilam Province, as well as in parts of southern Iraq.
India has been ranked as the second-oldest civilisation by the World Population Review survey, while China has been placed in the third position.
