‘This Is How Russia Began Good Friday:’ Zelenskyy Slams Deadly Attacks Across Ukraine

This is not the first time that Russia has attacked Ukraine during special occasion. Earlier on April 13, Russia had launched attack on Sumy city during Palm Sunday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday condemned Russia’s missile attacks across multiple cities in the country. The attacks which were launched on occasion of Good Friday damaged dozens of residential buildings, enterprise and vehicles, Zelenskyy stated.  The missile attack also resulted in fatalities and left around 70 people injured, including five children. Kharkiv, Dnipro, Kyiv, Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Donetsk were the regions attacked by Russia’s ballistic and done missiles.

Zelenskyy Slams Deadly Attacks

Zelenskyy informed about Russia’s attack through a post on X. He wrote, “This is how Russia began this Good Friday – with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, Shaheds – maiming our people and cities. A missile strike on Kharkiv, right on the city. Dozens of residential buildings were damaged, as well as an enterprise and vehicles. Around 70 people were injured, including five children.”

He mentioned that all the wounded people have been provided the necessary medical assistance. “The youngest, Valeriia, is just two years old. All the wounded received the necessary medical assistance. Tragically, one person was killed,” wrote Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy further mentioned the destruction caused by Russian drone attacks. He stated that a regular bakery was one of the targets and one person was killed in the attack.

“Sumy. Russian attack drones. One of the targets was a regular bakery, an ordinary business that has served the city for decades. Tragically, one person was killed in this attack. My condolences to all who have lost loved ones,” added Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy stressed that rescuers, medics, and other emergency service providers are helping in this difficult time. The President thanked every person involved in saving lives and restoring living conditions in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy stated, “Our rescuers, medics, and other emergency and specialized services are all responding and helping. I thank every single person who is saving lives and restoring living conditions in Ukraine’s cities and villages.”

He also thanked all the allies (partners) for extending help to Ukraine with defense package, air defense systems etc. “I am grateful to all our partners who are helping defend Ukraine. Every defense package matters – all air defense systems, sufficient supply of missiles for those systems – all this truly makes a difference,” added Zelenskky on X.

Not The First Time!

Well, this is not the first time that Russia has attacked Ukraine during special occasion. Earlier on April 13, Russia had launched attack on Sumy city during Palm Sunday. The attack left at least 31 people dead, including two children, and over 84 wounded, with 10 of the injured being children.
