Police reported that a gunman opened fire at a park in Round Rock, Texas on Saturday evening (local time), resulting in two deaths and multiple injuries.
According to CNN, at least six people, including two children, were wounded in the shooting that occurred at the park during a Juneteenth festival. Emergency response officials reported that all of them sustained “potentially serious injuries”.

Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks stated that the shooting occurred at Old Settlers Park around 11 PM after a confrontation between two groups. He mentioned that a gunman fired shots, hitting several individuals.
Banks confirmed that two people died at the location. The Austin-Travis County EMS informed ABC News that four adults and two children were taken to nearby trauma centers for medical care.
Rick White from the Round Rock Police Department stated, “We currently do not have anyone in custody as a suspect. We are actively searching for the suspects.”
A local nonprofit and the city government organized the Juneteenth Festival, which included a free concert featuring various performers scheduled for Saturday evening.
Juneteenth, officially called Juneteenth National Independence Day, is a federal holiday observed annually on June 19 in the United States. It marks the abolition of slavery in the country.
