Despite his courageous battle, he succumbed to his injuries on July 14, 2023, leaving his family in shock and mourning.
Tragedy struck again as the news of Gurvinder’s untimely death reached his family in Punjab. Unaware of her son’s fate, Gurvinder’s mother, Narinder Devi, sensed something amiss and grew restless. Little did she know that her worst fears were about to come true.

Mother and son cremated together
In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Narinder Devi’s grief overwhelmed her, and she took her own life after discovering her son’s demise. On Saturday, the bodies of Gurvinder Nath and his mother were laid to rest in their village of Aima Chahal, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district, Punjab.
A family’s struggle to cope
As the devastating news reached Gurvinder’s family, his brothers took desperate measures to protect their father from the unbearable truth. They tried to keep the tragedy under wraps, disabling the internet on their father Krishan Dev Nath’s phone to shield him from the heart-wrenching reality.
Gurvinder’s grandmother, Vidya Devi, recalled the heart-wrenching moments as they discovered Narinder Devi’s plight. Despite their efforts to support her, Narinder Devi’s grief proved too much to bear, leading to the unimaginable loss of both mother and son.
Meanwhile, the community in Canada took out a vigil candlelight march in remembrance of the Gurvinder Nath. A Twitter user posted the video claiming that she too has worked as a delivery partner and was stabbed. She also wrote that she can resonate with the brutal attack that led to Nath’s death.
