The Department of Justice has released 30,000 pages of documents and dozens of video clips related to the Jeffrey Epstein probe. In the documents, Donald Trump’s travel details surfaced, showing his journeys on Epstein’s private jet. However, officials have not mentioned any criminal involvement of President Trump.
Epstein files released with redactions
In the files released by the Department of Justice, several sensitive documents have been blacked out. Several videos were shot inside the jail. Notably, Jeffrey Epstein was found dead under mysterious circumstances inside a New York jail in 2019. His death was officially termed a suicide.
Email claims Trump took eight jet trips
Among the documents, an email dated January 7, 2020, claimed that US President Donald Trump had travelled nearly eight times on Epstein’s private jet between 1993 and 1996. The email was sent under the subject line “RE: Epstein flight records.” While the sender’s and receiver’s names have been kept confidential, the context mentions an Assistant Attorney from the Southern District.
Trump family named in jet travel
According to the email, Ghislaine Maxwell was also present on the flight. She was considered Epstein’s partner and was later found guilty of human trafficking. The document also states that Trump travelled on the private jet along with his then wife Marla Maples, daughter Tiffany Trump, and son Eric Trump.
DOJ rejects claims targeting Trump
After releasing the documents, the Department of Justice issued a clarification on X, stating that some claims are “false and sensational,” especially those related to Trump. The department said these claims were submitted to the FBI. It further stated that the claims are baseless, and if they were credible, they would have been used against President Trump during elections.
These revelations came at a time when Congress passed a bill under transparency laws requiring files related to Epstein to be made public. However, Trump had earlier tried to seal these files.
Epstein files reveal Bill Clinton photo
Earlier, Epstein files released on Friday and Saturday were heavily redacted, triggering outrage within the Republican Party. Among those files was a photograph of Bill Clinton with Epstein, which had not been seen publicly before. A criminal complaint from 1996 was also included in the documents.
On Monday, Trump said the files were being used to distract people from him and his party’s success.
