A shameful act has surfaced of an air hostess of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). She has been arrested by the police on the charges of smuggling. The customs officials have arrested the air hostess after disembarking from a flight coming from Abu Dhabi. Upon searching her belongings, the officials recovered mobile phones from her possession at Lahore Airport. The Pakistan International Airlines is a state airline and the incident has brought shame for the state public carrier. The officials were surprised during the search process after witnessing mobile phones.
According to Pakistan’s Express Tribune, Sources told the media outlet that the air hostess disembarked from flight PK 264 along with over a dozen mobile phones. During the search, the officials recovered the mobile phones and seized them. Now, a probe has been initiated against the air hostess.
A few days back two employees of PIA were terminated for being involved in stealing mobile phones. A spokesperson confirmed that the employees were terminated after their involvement was found in the misdeed.
In July 2024, an air hostess was caught red-handed in smuggling of foreign currencies. The customs officials arrested her at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore. American dollars and Saudi riyals were recovered from the air hostess.
