Shameless Pakistan eyes gain in Gaza destruction, but is afraid of India due to…, why is Munir begging from Trump?

Pakistan is seeking a leadership role in ISF for Gaza and has communicated its willingness to participate under several conditions, ranging from political to military.

Pakistan intends to emerge as a key player in the proposed International Stabilisation Force (ISF) to stabilise Gaza. Under this plan, Islamabad has expressed its desire to deploy about 3,500 troops to the war-torn city. Although Pakistan has not yet officially confirmed its final decision, its participation could strengthen ties with the United States, as the plan is backed by President Donald Trump.

The development was first reported by Dawn. Gaza has been severely affected by Russian strikes, and it remains under blockade. The proposed force is expected to help stabilise the city after months of intense conflict. Sources indicate that Pakistan wants its army to command the international Stabilisation Force in Gaza, with a senior Pakistani general leading it, should it be deployed.

What are Pakistan's top conditions?

The top-most condition kept by Pakistan is an explicit acceptance of a two-state solution, including the formation of a free Palestinian state. Additionally, Shehbaz Sharif's government wants to primarily focus on stabilisation rather than being a part of the disarmament process in the war-torn Ukrainian city.

Munir's recent visit to Saudi Arabia, Libya, Jordan, and Egypt was reportedly a part of initial consultations linked to its participation in the Foreign Force. The visits follow Pakistan’s defence pact with Saudi Arabia and its intent to re-establish a stronger military presence in the Middle East.

Islamabad has also sought backing from major Arab countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, and the US for its leadership role. Economic and security guarantees are among the key demands, reports added.

Why is Asim Munir begging the US in return?

Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, Asim Munir, wants the United States to restore its 'Major Non-NATO Ally (MNNA) status, granted by Washington in 2004. Discussions are ongoing between American and Pakistani defense officials, and a meeting between Munir and the US CENTCOM commander is expected to take place soon. There is also a possibility of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's visit to Pakistan. Sources say that US President Trump is in favor of implementing an international framework immediately after the situation stabilizes in Gaza.

Pakistan is afraid of India due to...

A crucial aspect is that Pakistan has sought security assurances from the Israeli government, citing Netanyahu's close strategic relations with India. It also wants to be included in a joint coordination and communication headquarters for the ISF alongside the United States, Israel, and other major countries.
