Putin’s big remark on Indian economy- ‘India demonstrating highest growth rates under PM Modi’

Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week, reaffirming the strong and time-tested ties between Moscow and New Delhi. The details of the discussion were later revealed by President Putin during a meeting with members of the Russian Government, as reported by the official Kremlin website. The exchange underscored the ongoing strategic partnership and mutual cooperation between the two nations across various sectors.

Putin highlighted the stability of Russia-India relations, describing them as “based on a national consensus.” He also commended achievements of India in governance and economic growth under PM Modi’s leadership. Putin specifically highlighted India’s growth in the economic sphere, stating that the country is demonstrating the highest economic growth rates among the world’s major economies.

“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India is pursuing a completely independent, sovereign policy and, most importantly, is achieving very good results in the economic sphere. India is demonstrating the highest economic growth rates among the world’s major economies,” Putin said.

TV BRICS reported that the call came shortly after Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to PM Modi on the occasion of his 75th birthday. In his message, Putin emphasised the Indian leader’s personal contribution to strengthening bilateral ties. “You (PM Modi) are making a great personal contribution to strengthening the special privileged strategic partnership between our countries and developing mutually beneficial Russian-Indian cooperation in various areas,” Putin noted.

Earlier in a phone call on September 17, Russian President had offered his best wishes to PM Modi on his 75th birthday. He had wished him good health, prosperity and further success in his service to the nation. Putin had emphasised that under PM Modi’s leadership, India is pursuing an independent, sovereign policy while demonstrating impressive economic results.
