Russia has asserted that the United States attempted to intervene in India’s parliamentary elections and disrupt the country’s internal political stability. During a media briefing, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova also mentioned that the US has not yet furnished concrete evidence regarding the alleged participation of Indian nationals in the thwarted assassination scheme targeting Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.
Zakharova commented on the US report on religious freedom in India, stating that the US demonstrates a lack of comprehension of India’s national mentality and historical context.
Zakharova stated America persistently makes baseless allegations about religious freedoms, which she deemed disrespectful to India. She further suggested that the US accusations aimed to disrupt India’s internal political equilibrium and complicate the upcoming general elections.
