Radical Islamist preacher ‘Zakir Naik’ is likely to be deported to India from Oman. As per media reports, national intelligence agencies are in touch with Oman officials in order to apprehend Naik on his March 23 visit.
Zakir Naik will be in Oman to give a lecture. According to the information, he has been invited to speak on the topic, “The Quran as a World Need,” on the first day of Ramzan, March 23. He will be delivering his second lecture on March 25.

The event will be organised at Sultan Qaboos university.
Indian Embassy in Oman is in touch with local agencies to detain and deport him under local laws.
Indian government outlawed Naik’s Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) in 2016, on charges of promoting feelings of enmity, hatred or ill-will between different religious communities.
