Queen Elizabeth Death: Prince Charles III will be formally proclaimed King of Britain on Saturday, September 10. Significantly, as the eldest son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, Charles automatically assumed the monarchy under the old common law soon after the death of his mother.

The historic Coronation Council session will take place at St James’s Palace in London on Saturday at 10 a.m. UK time or 2:30 p.m. Indian Standard Time. Let us tell you that Britain’s longest serving Queen Elizabeth died on Thursday at the age of 96.

It is the first time that the formal assembly of the Coronation Council will be broadcast live while they will publicly announce King Charles III’s official status as the new monarch.

What is the Coronation Council of Britain and who are its members

The Coronation Council consists of the Privy Councillor, officially known as Her Majesty’s Most Honorable Privy Council, or the Privy Council. They are a group of formal advisors to the sovereign of the United Kingdom (UK). The accession council also consists of key officials of state, the Lord Mayor of London, the High Commissioner of the Realm and senior civil servants.

The council is divided into two parts. Upon the death of the monarch, the members of this council convene within 24 hours at St James’s Palace in London to officially announce the new monarch, as well as to advise him on matters.
Britain’s accession council was last convened in 1952 after the death of King George VI, where Elizabeth II was proclaimed Queen of Britain. Elizabeth was crowned on June 2, 1953.
