Pope Francis, who was the leader of the Roman Catholic Church for 12 years, passed away on Monday morning at the age of 88.
He was known for his kindness and efforts to connect with people from different backgrounds and religions. His life and work as pope will be honoured at a funeral service on Saturday, according to the Vatican.

Pope Francis’ Final Farewell: Time and Place
Pope Francis’ funeral will be held on Saturday, April 26, at 10 a.m. local time (4 a.m. Eastern Time) in Vatican City. The service will take place either in St. Peter’s Square or inside the Basilica, depending on the weather.
Before the funeral, his body will be placed in a coffin made of cypress wood. After the service, that coffin will be placed inside two more coffins, each made from different types of wood, and then buried.

Notable Attendees at Pope Francis’ Final Farewell
As of Thursday, 130 groups from other countries have said they will attend Pope Francis’ funeral on Saturday morning, according too the Vatican.
This includes about 50 presidents or prime ministers and 10 kings or queens.
Some of the well-known people expected to attend are President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and Prince William. Former President Joe Biden, who is the second Catholic U.S. president, and former First Lady Jill Biden will also be there.
