"Had a warm conversation with Sanae Takaichi, Prime Minister of Japan. Congratulated her on assuming office and discussed our shared vision for advancing the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, with a focus on economic security, defense cooperation, and talent mobility," PM Modi wrote on X. He further mentioned that India and Japan agreed that stronger ties are important for global peace, stability, and prosperity.

Earlier, on October 21, PM Modi congratulated his Japanese counterpart after she became the country's first woman Prime Minister. He highlighted that the deepening ties between India and Japan are key to peace, stability, and prosperity across the Indo-Pacific and beyond. "Heartiest congratulations, Sanae Takaichi, on your election as the Prime Minister of Japan," PM Modi wrote on X.

In response, Japanese PM Takaichi said, "I look forward to working with Your Excellency to further promote the Japan-India Special Strategic and Global Partnership."
