PM Modi will travel to Italy on Thursday to attend the 50th G7 Summit. Modi will also hold a bilateral meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during his visit. This is the first foreign trip of the prime minister after taking office for the third consecutive term.
“On the invitation of the Italian Prime Minister (Giorgia Meloni), Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Puglia, Italy tomorrow to attend the 50th G7 summit on June 14, where India has been invited as a mission country,” the foreign minister things Vinay Mohan. Kwatra said on Wednesday.

“This is the Prime Minister’s first foreign trip after assuming office for the third consecutive term. It will also give him an opportunity to discuss with other world leaders present at the G7 summit issues important to India and also to India. The Global South,” he added.
Kwatra also said that this will be India’s 11th participation in the G7 summit and Prime Minister Modi’s fifth consecutive participation.
He said that Prime Minister Modi’s participation in the G7 summit will provide an opportunity to follow the outcome of the G20 summit held last year under the presidency of India.
“The Prime Minister’s participation in the G7 summit would also provide a timely opportunity to follow up on the outcome of the G20 summit held last year under the leadership of India and discuss issues of importance to the Global South,” he said.
Modi will attend an outreach session along with other countries invited to the June 14 Summit.

“This session will focus on artificial intelligence, energy, Africa and the Mediterranean region. It will be an agenda item where G7 and Foreign countries will share their views and perspectives.” said the foreign minister
Last year, PM Modi attended the G7 summit in Hiroshima. He spoke with Zelensky and other world leaders on the sidelines of the summit.
G7 Summit
The G7 Summit will be held at the luxury resort of Borgo Egnazia in the Apulia region of Italy from the 13th to the 15th. until June The G7 group includes the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany and Canada. and Japan.
Among others, US President Joe Biden, his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will also attend the summit.
The session of Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskij is also planned for the Russian invasion of his country.
The summit conference is likely to be dominated by the raging war in Ukraine and the conflict in Gaza, PTI reported.
