New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a warm telephonic conversation with US President Donald Trump on Thursday.

During the call, both leaders reviewed the progress of the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and exchanged views on expanding cooperation in key sectors such as critical technologies, energy, defence, and security.

They also discussed other priority areas under the India–US COMPACT (Catalyzing Opportunities for Military Partnership, Accelerated Commerce & Technology), which focuses on strengthening defence and technology partnerships in the 21st century.

In addition, PM Modi and Donald Trump talked about regional and global developments and agreed to work closely to address shared challenges and advance common interests.

Following the conversation, PM Modi said in a post on X, "Had a very warm and engaging conversation with President Trump. We reviewed the progress in our bilateral relations and discussed regional and international developments. India and the US will continue to work together for global peace, stability, and prosperity."

The last conversation between the two leaders took place in October, when PM Modi congratulated President Trump on the success of the Gaza peace plan.
