Bali: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and United States President Joe Biden met in Bali on Tuesday on the margins of G-20 Leaders’ Summit and reviewed India – US strategic partnership.

“They reviewed the continuing deepening of the India – US strategic partnership including cooperation in future oriented sectors like critical and emerging technologies, advanced computing, artificial intelligence, etc,” the Prime Minister’s office said.

They expressed satisfaction about the close cooperation between India and US in new groupings such as the Quad, I2U2, etc, it added.

The two leaders discussed topical global and regional developments.

PM Modi thanked President Biden for his constant support for strengthening the India-US partnership. He expressed confidence that both countries would continue to maintain close coordination during India’s G-20 Presidency.

India will assume the G20 presidency from the current chair Indonesia on December 1.

The annual G20 Leaders’ Summit began on Tuesday with participating world leaders deliberating extensively upon key issues of global concern including challenges posed by Covid19 under the Summit theme of ‘Recover Together, Recover Stronger’.

G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation representing around 85 per cent of the global GDP, over 75 per cent of the global trade, and about two-thirds of the world population.
