PM Netanyahu hails Trump as Israel’s greatest friend, endorses his nomination for Nobel Peace Prize next year

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday hailed United States President Donald Trump as the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House. The remark came during a ceremonial welcome for Trump at Israel’s parliament, as the US president arrived amid the ongoing release of hostages under the Gaza peace plan. Trump was received by Israel’s top political and military leadership, highlighting the significance of his visit.

In a further show of appreciation, Israel officially endorsed President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize next year, stating, “There is no one more deserving than you, Mr. President.” Trump received a welcome with an applause and a standing ovation from the members of Israel’s Parliament.

PM Netanyahu thanks Trump

Welcoming Trump, PM Netanyahu thanked Trump for his pivotal leadership in advancing a peace proposal that has gained international backing. Notably, first set of hostages has been received by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) on Monday.

“President Trump, we welcome you here to thank you for your pivotal leadership for the proposal that got the backing of the entire world. A proposal that brings all our hostages home. A proposal that ends the war by meeting all our objectives,” Netanyahu added. Appreciating Trump further, Netanyahu remarked that he has never seen any US President act so quickly and decisively.

“I have seen many a lot of US presidents, but I have never seen anyone move the world so quickly and decisively as our friend President Donald J Trump,” Netanyahu said.
