Planetary Parade 2025: Seven Planets Align In A Rare Celestial Event – When & How To Watch?

Out of these seven planets, only five will be visible to the naked eye. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn will be visible without any equipment.

On February 28, 2025, the rare planetary parade will be visible in the sky. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune will be seen in alignment. However, people cannot see them with the naked eye. According to StarWalk, Neptune and Uranus can be seen using binoculars or a telescope. Out of these seven planets, only five will be visible to the naked eye. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn will be visible without any equipment.

NASA Solar System mentioned planets, weather, moons, and histories on their X handle. They wrote, “When you see the planets, remember that while they just look like bright stars, in reality, they are entire worlds, with their own landscapes, weather, moons, and histories.”

This situation occurs when the planets align on one side of the Sun at the same time. As reported by Hindustan Times, stargazers and astronomers call such events ‘Planet Parades.’ Last month, a similar event took place when six planets aligned.

As quoted by Hindustan Times, a senior scientist at the Planetary Science Institute, Pamela Gay, tells NPR, ‘We’ve been waiting for this sucker to flare up and get super bright for several months. We know it’s coming.’ The planetary parade can be seen approx 45 minutes after the sunset.

How To Watch The Event?

  1. For witnessing the event, one needs to find a dark spot.
  2. To witness this, one can use the Star Map application.
  3. One needs to have binoculars or a telescope.
  4. Have a look toward the western part of the sky.
