At least ten people were killed and 30 others were injured after a powerful blast rocked Pakistan’s Quetta city on Tuesday (September 30, 2025). Following the explosion, the Balochistan Health Department imposed an emergency in hospitals across the city. Gunfire erupted immediately after the blast, spreading panic and chaos among the locals. Additionally, the blast’s impact was so powerful that it shattered the windows of nearby apartments and buildings.
According to Health Secretary Mujeebur Rehman, as quoted by Dawn, “An emergency has been declared at the Quetta Civil Hospital, Balochistan Medical College (BMC) Hospital Quetta, and the Trauma Centre.” Meanwhile, Rehman directed all consultants, doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and paramedical staff to be on duty in the hospitals.
Media Coordinator of Balochistan’s Health Department, Dr Waseem Baig, initially confirmed that 19 injured people were brought initially to the Civil Hospital’s Accident and Emergency Department and were later shifted to the Trauma Centre for receiving medical assistance, Dawn reported. Videos circulating on social media showed the exact moment when the blast took place near FC Balochistan’s security facility on a busy road.
Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar said that a total of 10 people lost their lives in the attack. Five people were killed on the spot, while five others died in the hospital during treatment. The death toll is likely to increase.
