Tragedy struck in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which was led by a targeted blast aimed at a security forces’ vehicle in Peshawar on Monday. As a consequence of the attack, a paramilitary personnel lost his life. Meanwhile, eight others, including two civilians, sustained injuries, said the police.
The incident took place around 10:30 am (local time) when a vehicle belonging to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Frontier Constabulary’s (FC) Mohmand Rifles regiment was en route from Machni to Peshawar. As cited in Dawn’s report, the Superintendent of Police for Warsak, Mohammad Arshad Khan, confirmed that an improvised explosive device (IED) was employed in this attack.
Visuals from the scene depict severe damage to the vehicle due to the force of the blast, with security forces and bystanders present at the site.

Tragically, one paramilitary force member succumbed to their injuries, and six other officials suffered injuries due to the explosion, the SP said. He further added, two civilians were also wounded in the incident.
This incident came days after another unfortunate event in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where nine security personnel lost their lives, and 17 others were injured in a suicide bombing in the Mali Khel area.
