Islamabad: Heavy rains in Pakistan’s Balochistan province have added to the hardships for people, leaving them with little or no food as flash floods disrupted traffic between Karachi and Quetta.

According to a Geo News report, the Management Authority (PDMA) has said that the floods may increase further in the northeastern and central regions of the province. The flood victims living in the camps have returned to their homes after getting no facilities.

According to a Geo News report, a highway connecting Balochistan with Punjab has been reopened for traffic. More than 2,000 trucks carrying food items and small vehicles were stuck at Fort Munro for a full week, spoiling vegetables and fruits. This situation has created a food crisis in Balochistan.

Death toll in Balochistan reaches 230

Traffic between Balochistan and Fort Munro in Punjab remained suspended for the eighth consecutive day. The PDMA said that efforts are on to clear the road with the help of heavy machinery.

Meanwhile, inter-provincial traffic between Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also been suspended for the eighth day. Till now hundreds of people have lost their lives. Due to the devastating effect of rains in Balochistan, the death toll in the province has reached 230.
