At least five people, including an assistant commissioner, were killed and 11 others injured on Wednesday in a bomb explosion. The incident took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district, as reported by Pakistan’s Dawn news. This comes after 13 security personnel were killed in a suicide bombing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan district on Saturday. Over a dozen civilians, including children, were also injured in the incident. According to the ISPR, a vehicle-borne suicide attacker targeted a security convoy in the district’s Mir Ali area before being intercepted by the convoy’s lead vehicle.

“In their desperation, an explosive-laden vehicle was rammed by the Kharijis into one of the vehicles of the leading group,” the ISPR stated.

Following the suicide bombing incident, Pakistan Army had blamed India for it. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Sunday, blasted Pakistan after it blamed India for a deadly suicide bombing attack in the Waziristan region. Dismissing the Pakistani Army’s claims, the MEA Official Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, “We have seen an official statement by the Pakistan Army seeking to blame India for the attack in Waziristan on 28 June. We reject this statement with the contempt it deserves.”
