Islamabad: The world has been shocked once more by Pakistan’s questionable plot to smuggle nuclear material from North Korea to Libya. A uranium package used in the atomic bomb was discovered at Heathrow Airport in London, the capital of the United Kingdom. This disclosure caused quite a commotion, and the London Police have now launched an investigation into the situation.

According to The Sun, this uranium was transported by aircraft from Pakistan to Oman. This uranium was discovered in a consignment of scrap metals. The border agent captured this uranium package on December 29 during normal inspection. The possibility of creating dirty bombs from this is being looked into.

According to a BBC story, officials are now exploring if this uranium has reached the UK due of Pakistan’s ‘weak security system’. Police Commander Richard Smith said, “I can tell the public that the amount of dangerous substance confiscated is quite little.”

The item is being analysed by professionals, according to the police commander, and presents no danger to the public. He stated, “While our investigation is ongoing, it appears that there is no immediate threat from it.”

Several kilos of uranium were intercepted at Heathrow Airport, according to a DailyMail article. Uranium is used to make nuclear bombs, and it is also relatively easy to make dirty bombs from it.

According to the Daily Mail, the consignment was transported from Pakistan to a corporation associated with Iran in the United Kingdom. According to one source, this uranium is not appropriate for the production of weapons.
