Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto was the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations on Sunday. He is the fourth Indonesian President to visit India as the chief guest on Republic Day. An Indonesian President was the chief guest at India’s first Republic Day. Subianto’s visit was significant, but an expert from Pakistan viewed it unfavorably. The Indonesian President had initially announced plans to visit both India and Pakistan, but later cancelled his visit to Pakistan. The expert now claims that this decision was made ‘under pressure’ from India.
Pakistani expert Qamar Cheema stated that Prabowo Subianto was supposed to visit Pakistan after attending the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi. However, he claimed that India ‘put pressure’ on Indonesia, preventing the visit to Islamabad.
Cheema said that India has taken its ‘revenge’ by ‘putting pressure on Indonesia to settle its score with Pakistan and Bangladesh, as the two nations are now growing closer.’ He said India is unhappy with Pakistan’s intervention in Bangladesh and has taken ‘revenge’ by stopping the Indonesian President from visiting Pakistan.
Cheema further added that India’s rising economy is also a key factor, as no country wants to overlook it. He stated that Pakistan must establish itself as a strong economy, or it will continue to face such situations.
