The operations targeted areas near the border between Israel and Lebanon specifically the infrastructure of Hezbollah. The declaration came on Tuesday following high tensions and violence in that region. These operations are the result of IDF intelligence and coordinated planning with Israel’s leadership. The IDF aims to neutralize some of the immediate dangers that Hezbollah presents to Israeli towns and cities. The operation-the term used, “Northern Arrows”-involves ground invasions spearheaded by several waves of airstrikes.

The IDF confirmed yesterday that “limited, localized, and targeted ground raids” against Hezbollah had begun in southern Lebanon.
