In a tragic incident, one person was killed and six others were injured at Pennsylvania’s Lincoln University in the United States on Saturday after gunfire erupted at the campus during homecoming event.
According to the Associated Press, the police officials detained a person with a firearm and probing the possibility of involvement of more than one shooter. Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe said that they do not believe there is any more shooter ‘ involvement in the incident.
Chester County District Attorney’s Office posted on X, “The Chester County District Attorney’s Office is aware of a shooting with multiple victims that occurred at Lincoln University this evening. Law enforcement has responded to the scene and are actively investigating. Please avoid the area at this time.”
“Local, state, & federal law enforcement are investigating the shooting at Lincoln University. At this time, seven gunshot victims have been identified. The public should continue to avoid the area,” it further added.

Officials said that the gunfire took place around 9:30 p.m. outside a large building called the International Cultural Center.
The district attorney urged people to share any videos related to the incident that could help the FBI in the probe.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro postd on x, “Since the shooting at Lincoln University last night, my Administration has been in constant contact with university officials. I’ve offered our full support to President Allen and local officials, and the @PAStatePolice stand ready to support.”
