A 30-year-old Indian tech worker in California was shot and killed by police after he allegedly attacked his roommate with a knife earlier this month. Authorities confirmed the incident. The deceased’s family has alleged racial profiling and demanded a thorough investigation into the cause of his death.
The deceased techie has been identified as Mohammed Nizamuddin, from Mahabubnagar in Telangana. He had gone for higher studies to the US in 2016. He had pursued a Masters in Computer Science at a Florida college and was working at a tech firm in Santa Clara.

Nizamuddin was shot after he was found inside his residence in Santa Clara with a knife on September 3. He was found pinning down his roommate, who had sustained several injuries. His family, who resides in Mahabubnagar is seeking assistance from the Indian and Telangana state governments to bring back the body of their son. According to his family, Nizamuddin was a quiet and religious person, who had publicly raised complaints of racial harassment and termination from job.
