Israel Protests: Tens of thousands of protesters gathered in Tel Aviv and various cities across Israel, pledging "days of disruption" in response to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's far-right administration's decision to advance its plan to reform the judiciary, according to Al Jazeera.
The demonstrations, which marked the 28th consecutive week of protests against the reform, occurred shortly after the government gave preliminary approval to a crucial bill as part of the overhaul.
The bill, which passed its first reading, aims to limit the use of the "reasonability" clause that allows courts to overturn executive orders. Additionally, the proposed reform would grant the government greater influence in the appointment of judges.

Before the bill becomes law, it must pass two more votes, expected to take place by the end of the month.
Protesters from all corners of the country joined the demonstrations in Tel Aviv, while others gathered outside Netanyahu's residence in Jerusalem, brandishing lit torches. Demonstrations also took place in the coastal cities of Herzliya and Netanya.
It is noteworthy that these protests coincided with Netanyahu's hospitalization due to dehydration. The prime minister, who experienced a dizzy spell after spending a day in the sun without consuming water, assured the public of his well-being in a video message released from the Tel Aviv hospital.
The widespread protests signify a deep-seated opposition to the government's judicial reform plan and a determination to protect the integrity and independence of the judiciary system in Israel. The public outcry against the proposed changes continues to be a prominent feature of the country's political landscape.
