Indian Astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla’s journey to the International Space Station for Axiom Mission 4 has been delayed several times. Axiom Space on Tuesday announced the new launch date of the fourth private astronaut mission. ISS shared the update on X: “NASA, Axiom Space, and SpaceX are targeting 2:31 a.m. EDT, Wednesday, June 25, for the launch of Axiom Mission 4 to the orbital outpost.”
Now the crew will lift off tomorrow, June 25, 2025, from Launch Complex 39A, NASA’s Kennedy Space Centre, Florida. In its latest press release, NASA said, “The crew will travel to the orbiting laboratory on a new SpaceX Dragon spacecraft after launching on the company’s Falcon 9 rocket. The targeted docking time is approximately 7 a.m. Thursday, June 26. NASA will provide more details and its coverage information shortly.”

The mission initially slated for launch on June 11 was postponed to June 19 and again to June 22 after leaks were detected during post static fire booster inspections. The new date for lift-off has changed once again.

About Axiom-4 Mission
Former NASA astronaut Peggy Whitson will lead the mission, while Shubhanshu Shukla will be in the role of pilot. Poland’s Slavoj Uznanski and Hungary’s Tibor Kapu are included in the team as mission specialists. Ax-4 will be the second commercial spaceflight mission made up of government and ESA-sponsored national astronauts.
