NASA has alerted that two substantial, airplane-size asteroids – 2024 UT7 and 2024 UX6 will be passing close to Earth on Tuesday. According to reports, the two celestial objects do not pose any threat to our planet but their close proximity aligns with an increasing alertness about such space objects.
Asteroid 2024 UT7: Close Pass With Potential Impact
Asteroid 2024 UT7 is reportedly 61 meters approx. (200 feet) in diameter. Reports revealed that it is set to pass within 1,030,000 km or 640,000 miles from Earth. According to NASA, this near-Earth object poses no direct threat but its size could cause severe impact if it came closer.
Asteroid 2024 UX6: Distant But Noteworthy Pass
The other asteroid 2024 UX6 notably smaller – 37 meters or 121 feet in diameter. It will fly by at a father distance of 6,590,000 km/ 4,095,000 miles, reports added. Though it will approach much farther in comparison to UT7, its distance will remain within the monitoring range by NASA. Both the celestial objects will significantly travel at high speeds.
Are Asteroids Visible To The Naked Eye?
These asteroids are invisible to the naked eye, yet their journeys can be captured through the telescope. Both 2024 UT7 and 2024 UX6 approaching close to Earth on November 5 will let scientists monitor their advances for a better understanding of near-Earth objects.
