Myanmar Earthquake LIVE Updates: Another earthquake of magnitude 4.2 jolted Myanmar on Friday night at 11:56 pm (local time), the National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported. Earlier in the day, the country was hit by a series of tremors, including a massive quake of magnitude 7.2 that occurred at 11:50 am (local time). Thereafter, a devastating 6.4 aftershock soon followed. The powerful tremors were felt in Thailand’s capital city, Bangkok, and several other parts. According to reports, at least 144 people have died, and over 700 others have been injured in the quake-hit Myanmar.

The Death toll from the magnitude 7.7 earthquake in Myanmar has jumped to 694, and 1670 people have been injured, the country's military junta said on Saturday.

Myanmar-Thailand earthquake | Kolkata passenger coming from Bangkok, Sanjiv Dutta, said, "My bed started shaking when the earthquake took place. After I woke up, I saw that the building was shaking. Later, I saw people running in panic. I came to the ground floor from the seventh floor and waited there for some time. There was huge traffic. It took 5-6 hours to cover 30 kilometres."

India is sending approximately 15 tonnes of relief material to quake-hit Myanmar on an IAF C 130 J aircraft from AFS Hindon. The relief materials include tents, sleeping bags, blankets, ready-to-eat meals, water purifiers, medicines, etc.

Prime Minister of Japan, Shigeru Ishiba, has offered his condolences to quake-hit Myanmar and Thailand after it killed at least 144 people.
Ishiba on Friday said, "I am deeply saddened to learn of the significant damage caused by the earthquake in central Myanmar. My heartfelt condolences go out to all those affected."
