New Delhi: Owner of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter, Elon musk has made an indication that the Twitter account of the former US President Donald Trump might be reinstated back on the microblogging platform. His account was suspended following the violence at the Capitol Hill.
‘Vox Populi, Vox Dei’
Musk tweeted a poll from his account and sought people’s opinion on the matter. He wrote, ‘Reinstate former President Trump’ with a poll asking to vote in ‘Yes’ or ‘No’. In a following tweet he also wrote ‘Vox Populi, Vox Dei’ which essentially means ‘Voice of the People, Voice of God’.
The total number of votes that have been casted in the poll till now is 7,006,819. The poll is currently trending towards an affirmation with 53.6 per cent votes in favor of the motion. While ‘NOs’ are trailing behind 46.4 per cent at the moment.

On Friday, Musk said that a decision to bring back Trump’s account is yet to be made. In addition, Twitter reinstated some other controversial accounts that were previously banned or suspended. These include the accounts of Babylon Bee and comedian Kathy Griffin.

Elon Musk has announced a new moderation policy on Friday. Musk said that under the new Twitter policy, hate tweets will be de-boosted and demonetized. So no one will be able to promote hate on Twitter. (sematext) You will be able to see someone’s tweet only if you search for it yourself. It will be similar to other mediums on the internet.
