MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh represents India at Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, meets President Donald Trump

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was originally invited to the summit by US President Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for a gathering expected to be attended by around 20 world leaders.

Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, on Monday met United States President Donald Trump during the Middle East Peace Ceremony held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was originally invited to the summit by US President Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for a gathering expected to be attended by around 20 world leaders. However, MoS Kirti Vardhan Singh was deputed to attend the high-level meeting and represent India.

Shared stage with Trump, MoS Singh posts on X

Singh also took to X to share about his meeting with Trump. Sharing the video, he wrote, “At the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, as the Special Envoy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Shared the stage with U.S. President Donald Trump, marking a significant moment in diplomatic engagement and international cooperation.”

US President Trump departed for Egypt on Monday after visiting Israel, where he addressed the Israeli Parliament and welcomed the breakthrough in Gaza conflict. Ahead of attending the peace summit in Egypt, Trump had stated that his upcoming visit to the Middle East aims to bring together leaders from across the region in support of ongoing peace efforts. “We are gonna make everybody happy… Everybody is happy, whether it’s Jewish or Muslim or the Arab countries,” Trump said.

He added, “We are going to Egypt after Israel and we are going to meet all of the leaders of the very powerful and big countries and very rich countries and others and they’re all into this deal.”
