A 79-year-old man, Tarsame Singh, has been charged with the murder of his wife, Maya Devi, at their residence in Hornchurch, east London on May 2.

Singh allegedly used a rounders bat to bludgeon his wife to death. He later walked into Romford Police Station and confessed to the crime at the front desk. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found Maya’s lifeless body lying next to the bat, The Mirror reported.

During the court appearance at Snaresbrook Crown Court, Singh pleaded guilty to the charge of murder. Detective Chief Inspector Mark Rogers, who is leading the investigation, stated that the couple’s three children have been left devastated by the loss of their mother. However, Singh has not disclosed the reason behind his violent actions.
