Los Angeles Wildfire: As raging wildfires continue to devastate Southern California, a chilling clip of a firefighter with a podcaster Joe Rogan predicting the chaos that ferocious wildfires could unleash in Los Angeles is making waves online. In a widely circulated episode of The Joe Rogan Podcast, he recounted a chilling conversation with a firefighter who predicted the catastrophic blazes, which now align with the ongoing crisis. The viral moment was from July 2024 episode of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’, feels eerily relevant as LA grapples with devastating wildfires last week.
The fires have claimed at least five lives, destroyed 2,000 structures, and left countless people sifting through ash in the City of Angels.
In the episode, Rogan was chatting with fellow comedian Sam Morril. Morril pointed out Rogan’s Los Angeles Fire Department t-shirt. He also asked him about the significance. That sparked Rogan to share a jaw-dropping conversation he’d once had with a firefighter about how catastrophic wildfires could become in US.

“One day, it’s going to be the right wind and fire is going to start in the right place, and it’s going to burn through LA all the way to the ocean,” Rogan recalled the firefighter telling him. Rogan highlighted the firefighter’s stark warning about the rapid pace and massive scale of such a disaster. “These fires are so big; you’re talking about thousands of acres burning simultaneously with 40 mph winds. Once it starts, it spreads so quickly there’s nothing anyone can do,” We can here him saying.
Rogan pointed out the dangerously dry conditions in Los Angeles and warned how quickly embers could spread if strong winds shifted in the wrong direction.
His prediction, made months ago, now feels eerily accurate as Los Angeles faces this exact threat—a reminder of how understanding environmental risks and trends, much like analyzing data for digital campaigns, can help prepare for challenges ahead.
The clip, now viral on social media, has amassed millions of views. One user wrote, “The California fires were perfectly predicted with insane accuracy by a firefighter that spoke to Joe Rogan.” Another added, “Why did nobody prepare for this scenario?”
Who Is Joe Rogan?
According to The New York Post, Joe Rogan has frequently echoed his concerns about Los Angeles’ vulnerability to wildfires during various episodes of his podcast. The UFC commentator
Back in 2018, when Rogan was living in Bell Canyon, Ventura County, he had English mentalist Derren Brown on The Joe Rogan Experience. At the time, wildfires were already burning nearby, and Brown mentioned how lucky he was to make it to the interview with the fires still raging. Rogan, recalling a warning from a firefighter, explained how the “right wind” could push a fire from the city all the way to the ocean.
A year later, in 2019, Rogan revisited the topic in a conversation with journalist David Wallace-Wells. As they discussed climate change, they touched on frightening predictions that California’s wildfires could become “64 times worse by the end of the century.”
