Central London on Saturday (September 13, 2025) witnessed one of the largest demonstrations in recent UK history. Over 1,10,000 protestors took to the city’s streets in far-right anti-immigration protests. The British capital’s force reported that several officers were ‘assaulted’ and ‘attacked with projectiles’ during the demonstrations.
Videos circulating online showed thousands of people heading towards Westminster, the seat of the UK Parliament. Anti-immigration activist Tommy Robinson organized the “Unite the Kingdom” protest march. A counter-protest by “Stand Up To Racism” also flocked to the southern end of Whitehall, where a demonstration was held amid heavy police force. The march turned unruly when some supporters clashed with police who tried to separate them from counter-protesters.

The Metropolitan Police Service said that 26 officers were injured while 25 people were arrested in the clashes. Earlier on Sunday, the force informed, “Our policing operation is now drawing to a close as central London returns to normal. Assistant Commissioner Matt Twist has issued a statement reflecting on the significant challenges, including unacceptable violence, that officers faced.”
According to the Metropolitan Police, the cops were punched, kicked, and hit with bottles. Four officers sustained serious wounds, reporting broken teeth, nose injury, and a spinal injury. London Mayor Sadiq Khan condemned the violence and attack on officers, calling it “completely unacceptable.” Participants displayed both the Union flag and the red and white St George’s Cross. Some even waved American and Israeli flags. Moreover, slogans criticizing Prime Minister Keir Starmer were chanted in the rally.
