Even after Pakistan’s Adiala jail administration on Thursday dismissed rumours about former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s health, stating that he is fully healthy, Khan’s family members appear to not trust the statement. Imran’s son, Kasim Khan, has now demanded proof of life and his father's immediate release. This comes after an Afghan media report, citing sources claimed that Khan was killed inside Adiala Jail on Tuesday, sparking widespread shock and discussion.
My father has been under arrest for 845 days: Kasim Khan
In a post on X, Kasim said that it has been 845 days since his father was jailed in Rawalpindi. He alleged that for the past one and a half months, Khan has been kept in a death cell without any contact with his family. He added that the family has been unable to get any news of his well-being, and barred from phone calls and meetings, even though the court has permitted them to visit him.

“My father has been under arrest for 845 days. For the past six weeks, he has been kept in solitary confinement in a death cell with zero transparency. His sisters have been denied every visit, even with clear court orders allowing access. There have been no phone calls, no meetings and no proof of life. Me and my brother have had no contact with our father,” Kasim wrote on X.

He condemned the authorities, calling it a deliberate attempt to hide Khan’s condition and prevent the family from knowing whether he is safe. Kasim warned that the Pakistani government and its officials would be fully accountable if Khan’s safety is ever threatened.
Kasim Khan warns Pakistan Govt
“This absolute blackout is not a security protocol. It is a deliberate attempt to hide his condition and prevent our family from knowing whether he is safe. Let it be clear: the Pakistani government and its handlers will be held fully accountable legally, morally and internationally for my father’s safety and for every consequence of this inhumane isolation,” he added.
Kasim has further called on international community, global human rights organisations for their intervention into the matter. Sharing an image, that has “ILLEGALLY DETAINED, FASCISM CANNOT DEFEAT IDEOLOGY Founder of PTI and former Prime Minister Of Pakistan Imran Khan” written on it, Kasim has demanded proof of his life.
“I call on the international community, global human rights organisations and every democratic voice to intervene urgently. Demand proof of life, enforce court ordered access, end this inhumane isolation and call for the release of Pakistan’s most popular political leader who is being held solely for political reasons,” he stated.
