Field Marshal Asim Munir became Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), and he has become the most powerful person in the nation. After becoming CDF, he targeted two of his neighbours, India and Afghanistan. Munir’s rants against India have become common during his speeches as he wants to instigate violence in Kashmir. Experts dub it as the ‘Munir Doctrine’ that drew India’s attention.
‘India should not remain under any delusion’
According to The Print, after holding the position of CDF, Asim Munir said, “India should not remain under any delusion as Pakistan had given a strong reply during the clash in May, and next time, Pakistan’s reply will be more severe. The country is safe because of its Army personnel who are determined to protect it.”
‘Munir Doctrine’ is based on aggressive stance on Kashmir: Experts
Munir’s rants are not new for India. In April this year, Munir had said that “Kashmir will remain their jugular vein, and it will remain so.” Experts are of the view that it shows the ‘Munir Doctrine’ because it is based on an aggressive stance on Kashmir, military determination and Islamic nationalism.
India has already rejected Pakistan’s claims. However, Pakistan reiterated its claims over Kashmir. In February, while speaking in PoK, he had said that three wars took place in the past for Kashmir, and they will fight 10 more battles for it. He had reiterated his “jugular vein” comment in Washington.
Munir threatens to use nuclear weapons
Munir had already threatened to use nuclear weapons. In October, while speaking at the National Military Academy, he said that if a new wave of hostility begins, Pakistan will reply far beyond the expectations of those who initiate it. He said that defence and economic losses will be far greater than anyone’s imagination.
Munir’s remarks reflect the weakness of the Pak govt: Experts
Experts believe that Munir’s statements reflect the weakness of the Pakistani government. They said that the government has pushed the country towards civil war, which has led to an economic crunch.
Experts also added that Munir banks on rants against India to hide their inefficiency on the economic, foreign policy and defence fronts. India should take note of his threats, but there is nothing to worry about. Munir’s statements show that he wants to protect himself by making statements against India.
