US Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to make a high-profile visit to India next week. The visit, which comes at a time when India is holding bilateral talks, aims to strengthen the ties between the two countries. During his time in India, Vance will travel to New Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra, besides meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He will be visiting India and Italy accompanied by his family between April 18 to 24.
A release from the Vice President’s Office on Wednesday stated, “Vice President JD Vance and the Second Family will travel to Italy and India from April 18 to April 24. The Vice President will discuss shared economic and geopolitical priorities with leaders in each country.” In Rome, the Vice President is expected to meet Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. He will also hold talks with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

The release further mentioned, “The Vice President and Second Family will also participate in engagements at cultural sites in India.” During his high-profile visit, he will discuss shared economic and geopolitical priorities with leaders in each country.
Earlier in February, when PM Modi was in France to participate in the AI Action Summit, he gifted an eco-friendly wooden alphabet set to Vance’s daughter Mirabel Rose Vance. This was followed by PM Modi’s visit to the United States on the invitation of President Donald Trump. He was extended a warm welcome by India’s Ambassador to the US, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, and other officials at the Joint Base Andrews in Washington DC. It was the PM’s first trip to the US after Donald Trump was elected for a second term.
US Vice President JD Vance hit the headlines in March, becoming a viral political meme sensation. He was then subjected to countless memes on social media after a fiery exchange with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on February 28 at the United States’ Oval Office. It all started when Vance questioned Zelenskyy’s request for additional US funding, during which he offered him a stark warning. He said Ukraine may risk American support without accepting the terms on offer.
