In a startling revelation, Jaish-e-Muhammad top commander Masood Ilyas Kashmiri said that Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir had ordered military generals to attend the funeral of terrorists killed during Operation Sindoor. In a video that is circulating online, Ilyas purportedly said, “GHQ ordered the martyrs to be honoured and given the last salute.”
The latest confession follows the circulation of images of Pakistani soldiers attending the funeral of a slain terrorist. The revelation also came just months after Pakistan had repeatedly said that no terrorist camps were operating on its soil. Ilyas Kashmiri claimed that the corps commanders were directed to accompany and guard the funeral procession in uniform.
JeM Commander Masood Ilyas Kashmiri had made a significant statement regarding Sindoor, a key counter-terror operation carried out in Bahawalpur in retaliation for the Pahalgam terrorist attack. He said that members of Masood Azhar’s family were killed during the operation. This is the first time that the terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad has admitted that family members of its chief, Masood Azhar, were killed during India’s strike in Bahawalpur.
