In a post on X, the Israeli military said it had hit a “Hamas terrorist” in southern Gaza following a clash with Palestinian militants in the region that left five soldiers wounded earlier on Wednesday. "In response to Hamas’ blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement earlier today, in which 5 soldiers were injured, the IDF & ISA struck a Hamas terrorist in southern Gaza," Israel Defense Forces said.

Strike triggers panic among families

Witnesses said the initial strike that hit a shelter camp inside the al-Mawasi displacement area near the Kuwait hospital triggered chaos and panic among families who were taking refuge nearby, BBC reported. Meanwhile, Hamas called Jerusalem's action 'barbaric, indiscriminate and a violation of the ceasefire' that started on October 10.
