The Israeli Government has agreed to a 4-hour humanitarian break amid the Israel-Hamas war according to US President Joe Biden. The US National Security Council said that Israel will stop fighting in northern Gaza for four hours every day.
The Israel-Hamas war has caused a huge disruption, especially for the people residing in Gaza. The Israeli Government has earlier denied humanitarian breaks during the war in the Gaza Strip. However, according to the latest reports, the Israeli Government has approved for a 4-hour humanitarian break every day.
What is Humanitarian Break?
A humanitarian break is taken in the middle of the war to provide necessary aid that includes food, medicines, cash vouchers, and other basic amenities. During this time common people are provided with healthcare, drinking water, and other emergency supplies.
According to the United Nations, even the enemy countries agree to take humanitarian breaks in emergency situations including festive occasions. Citing the instance of the Armenia-Azerbaijan war, the United Nations claims that the war was paused owing to festivities. On the other hand, Pakistan would also pause the war with the enemy country on the eve of Eid.
How Does It Differ from Ceasefire?
A cease-fire is a political condition that regulates the cessation of all military activity for a given length of time in a given area. However, during the ceasefire, both countries found the best possible ways to resolve the issues.
Will Israel End War With Hamas?
Israel is determined to protect its people from the hands of Hamas, but on the other hand, Hamas has hostage more than 150 people in Israel. Reportedly, Israel had earlier approached for verbal communication with Hamas to end the war.
According to the latest reports, Israel is ready to take a humanitarian break, but not a ceasefire as this might strengthen the Hamas and this might have an adverse effect on Israel.
Earlier in 2021, more than 200 people lost lives in the Hamas-Israel war that lasted for at least 11 days. Later ceasefire took place between the two with the intervention of Egypt. However, the current scenario might be resolved if countries like Egypt or America intervene.
