Is Donald Trump Planning To Remove Transgenders From US Military? Here’s What Report Says

Seeing Trump’s earlier stance on Transgender in US Military, reports have predicted that the new directive, if signed, could be more expansive and controversial than the previous one.

A report has emerged before the official start of United States President-elect Donald Trump’s second administration, sparking widespread discussions. According to reports, Donald Trump is preparing to sign an executive order that would result in the removal of all transgender individuals from the U.S. military. There are believed to be about 15,000 active service personnel who are transgender. They would be medically discharged, which would determine that they were unfit to serve, reported The Sunday Times.

The executive order is expected to reportedly come on his first day back as the President on January 20, next year, said the report.

Notably, outgoing US President Joe Biden had repealed Trump’s ban on transgender Americans joining the United States military in 2021. Trump had announced the ban on transgender during his first year in office.

The White House statement read, “Transgender service members will no longer be subject to the possibility of discharge or separation on the basis of gender identity.”

It added, “President Biden believes that gender identity should not be a bar to military service, and that America’s strength is found in its diversity.”

Trump Had Announced Ban In 2017

In 2017, Trump had announced on X (Then Twiiter), “After consultation with my Generals and military experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or allow Transgender individuals to  serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail. Thank you.”

Seeing Trump’s earlier stance on Transgender in US Military, reports have predicted that the new directive, if signed, could be more expansive and controversial than the previous one.
